Historical information
This watering can would have been used some decades ago to water pot plants and small plants in the garden requiring individual watering. Today watering cans are still
used but mostly they are made of plastic although some cans are made in other materials for decorative reasons. Enamel is a hardy material but it chips when the
object is knocked or dropped.
Significance
This watering can has no known local provenance but is retained as an example of a
common household item from early in the 20th century.
