Historical information
In 1912 W. H. Middleton was Acting President of the Ballarat School of Mines. Part of the report includes are:
'The Trade Classes in Plumbing, Manual Training, Carpentry, Telegraphy, Blacksmithing and Fitting and Turning are all being carried out with success'. 'Classes in Agricultural Chemistry and Botany for teachers have been carried on during the year, and have been well attended by those for whom they were intended'.
