Historical information

.All the letters are to Thomas Henry Whyte's wife Adelaide. Thomas Henry Whyte No 1936 enlisted in the 2nd reinforcements 38th Batt AIF on 18.4.1916 age 32 years 1 month. Embark for England 16.8.1916, transferred to 8th Training Batt England 14.10.1916, classified PB 8.8.1917, due to a pre existing condition “Alternating Strabismus” of the right eye he was classed not medically fit for general service but fit for home duties and was discharged from the AIF on 9.11.1918.
