In the mid 20th century, the Australian Army used training pamphlets of the British Army. There was a commonality then of weapons, equipment and training doctrine.
It was not always a perfect fit. This pamphlet teaches direction finding by the use of the Pole Star at night and the Sun by day in the Northern hemisphere.
