Fellmonger's Township was on the outskirts of Ballarat East near Gong Gong. Martin Hosking, Dennis Kinnane, Quinns, O'Deas, and Nestors lived in this location. Hewitt's soap works were located on the banks of the Yarrowee Creek on the Daylesford - Ballarat road and were obviously near a fellmongering operation from which the area derives its name.

This former bank building was contructed for the Union Bank of Australia in 1863-64 to the design of architect Leonard Terry. It replaced an earlier building that operated from 1857. The Union Bank disposed of the building in 1951 when it merged with the Bank of Australasia.
Double storey bank building. The ground floor facade is designed as a five bay colonnade of engaged Doric columns, a motif repeated above using Corinthian columns to support the balustraded parapet.

Sydney LONG (20 August 1871-23 January 1955) Born Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia 20 Aug 1871 Sydney Long is best known for his art nouveau inspired depictions of the Australian landscape. Travelling to London in 1910, Long studied printmaking at the Central School of Arts and Crafts and was taught etching by Frank Emanuel and Malcolm Osborne.
