Imitation smoothing Iron (Strijkijzer)

- Brass smoothing iron most likely produced for the souvenir industry. The original would have held coal or charcoal. The lid can be lifted and there are openings to allow smoke to escape. The lid can be fastened to the main body with a hook.
- L22cmx9.5cm at widest point x H18cm at top of handle
- In their original form these smoothing irons were filled with hot coal or charcoal and used to remove creases from garments.
