Historical information

John Hanlon Knipe is the person credited with first using the name 'Surrey Hills'. Not all of this material is of direct relevance to Surrey Hills, which in fact was but a small part of J H Knipe's business and land dealings. However it was decided that it was appropriate to keep the collection of material together.
Philip Slobom was a member of Kew Historical Society.
