Historical information

The nurses would have been employed at the Sunbury Asylum, which functioned for 120 years until in closed in 1992. The entire complex is now a housing estate, known as Jacksons Hill.

Significance

Sunbury Asylum like other similar institutions were establish in outer rural areas or regional towns across the state.

Physical description

Mounted b/w photograph with corner of the mount cut off, of nurses. There is some damage from mould across the photograph and the cardboard mounting.
