Physical description

Square jewellery box, flocked outer of a coral colour. Snap lid, black satin-like lining, embossed in gold 'Caris - the Jeweller'. Ribbon inside, possibly designed to house a pair of cufflinks. Dates to 1970s-1980s.

Caris Bros. began around 1883 in Coolgardie, Western Australia. Originally started by Stanley, his brother John joined him by 1897. They sold the business in 1924 but it continued to run under the same name until eventually closing in 1987.
