The proposal was for a $220 million retirement village to be built. The location is next to Ringwood Lake with the old hotel being knocked down in the early 2020s.

Written on backing sheet, "Club 1969. Site originally marked out as local cemetery 1871. Hotel built as single storey 1877" The hotel has a long association with the Reddish family, thus given the name of "Daisy's Hotel". Black and white photograph of Coach and Horses Hotel in Maroondah Highway, west of New Street, now adjacent to Eastlink Freeway, on northern side. There are two duplicate photos. Certainly the photo was taken post-1940 as the previous Coach & Horses Hotel, on the south side, burnt down in 1940. The telephone pole indicates that era, with limited lines. The style of the building was Art Deco that generally existed in the 1920s-1930s but did continued in Australia in the 1940s. The building has the appearance of being newly-built.

A recount of votes in Loughnan's Hill Ward failed to overturn the result in the most hotly contested ward of last weekend's first Maroondah Council elections.Despite attracting only 1014 first preference votes - fourth highest - Joe Cossari went on to win Loughnan's Hill by 247 votes from former Ringwood councillor Yvonne Kaukas after preference votes recorded by six other candidates were distributed.
