Typed below each photograph: "'The Dive' East Ringwood Knaith Rd. where the aquatic sports were held. Being filled in after several drownings. Was clayhole from a brickworks. Now site of Ringwood East Community Centre."
Image shows a man shovelling rubbish into the pool from a horse and cart.
Written on back of a copy of RE0026: "Tip. 1/2/34, Council to buy old clay hole at £10 p.a. for 20 years. 3.75 acres.(Child recently drowned in hole). 2/5/40, Council charge 2/6 per load for tipping in water hole."
