'City of Ringwood/ Poppett Head/ This Poppett head is a replica of one which was used at/ the Ringwood Antimony Mine located at the present/ Civic Centre Site, Mines Road, Ringwood east./ The Poppett head was erected by the/ Ringwood City Council, in conjunction with the/ Ringwood Historical Research Group, and was/ commissioned by the Mayor of Ringwood/ Councillor Lillian Rosewarne, JP/ on 12th April 1987/
