Historical information

The function took place at the Sunbury State School in 1916. As many of the town's menfolk were away fighting in the First World War and the flags flying were of allied countries, the function was most likely held to raise funds for the war effort. During those years many community groups in Sunbury held a variety of events to aid the3 war effort.
