A vintage No 2 Class II Salters Improved Spring Balance weigh scale with a weight guage of 0 - 40 lbs. It is made of metal with four rivets holding the front measurement panel covering the spring with a ring at the top and a hook at the bottom to hold the item being weighed. It was manufactured in England by Salters and used in the late 19th and early 20th century.

A small vintage handmade metal rectangular meat chopper with a short metal handle attached to the very sharp blade. It has a turned, patterned curved wooden handle joined to this.

A steel manual breast drill with an attached curved flat plate at the top to apply pressure with the chest.. This plate is attached to the drill by a screw. A wooden handle turns the drill mechanism to operate it and a second wooden handle is to steady the operation. It was used for making cylindrical holes by rotation.

A large triangular shaped metal blade tin cutter for manually opening kerosene and petrol tin lids which were often recycled for use on farms in the 19th and early 20th century. It has a rectangular shaped tubular steel handle attached to the top side by two rivets. On one of the triangular points of the blade is the manufacturer's brand ' Chapman and Co, Enfield S.A'. It was Australian made.

A blacksmith handmade hay fork or pitch fork with three thin forked metal spikes and a handmade long wooden handle. The head is attached to the handle with two rivets. It was used in the late 19th century and early 20th century.

A blacksmith handmade bush rake with a steel head and a handmade long wooden handle which was roughly hewn from tea-tree wood. The head with 11 prongs is attached to the handle by a fork shaped steel fitted extension with three rivets. It was used to rake up debris after clearing land circa 1890.

A thick curved forged steel scrub slasher - head only. It has two bent steel clamps to attach a handle, one which is small and is attached by a screw, the other large one is attached by two rivets. It was efficient for clearing thin and dense low-lying scrub or bush where an axe would be too clumsy.

A metal King Eye slasher with an unusual rounded 'U' shaped open blade and a wooden handle. On the blade is stamped, 'King Eye, PATT NO, 3868 A & F PARKES & CO BIRMINGHAM England'. It was efficient for clearing thin and dense low-lying scrub or bush where an axe would be too clumsy. It is similar to a billhook, but with a longer handle.

It has one flattened hoe shaped edge at one end and at the opposite, three rake prongs, and there is an extension on the head for the wooden handle to be attached. It could have been used in small areas such as a garden in the 19th century..

A long swan necked steel scooped drainage shovel head with a long wooden handle, attached to the head by three rivets. It was used to prepare trenches for narrow pipe drains. A swan necked shovel is pushed away from the user by the very long handle. Used in the early 20th century.

A narrow goose necked drainage shovel with a very long wooden handle which was used to clean urban drains and prepare trenches for narrow pipes. A goose necked shovel is pulled towards the user by the very long handle. Used in the early 20th century.

An unusual split headed long thin spade with a wooden handle Four rivets attach the head to the handle. At the top the handle is screwed to the metal. It was used by Wandin Sebire, probably for a special purpose - it is not known for what. Spades are usually used for turning soil by pushing against the blade with the foot. Used in the early 20th century.
Stamped on the metal handle - '2' and 'S & C Ham'. 'Parkes & Co. Birmingham no. 2'.

A small forged steel pick head with a point at one end and a square opposite end. It may have had a special purpose which is unknown. Used in the 19th century.

A forged steel pick with points at both ends mounted on a handmade wooden handle with a number 5 stamped on the head. It was used for loosening and breaking up compacted soil in the 19th or early 20th century.

A small steel oval shaped headed bale hook or hand grab with three of nine pointed hooks remaining and a turned smooth wooden handle. The metal head is attached through a hole in the handle with a rivet. It was used to assist with handling bagged goods without causing damage.

A small steel double curved pointy hooked bag hook with a turned wooden handle on the top. The handle is attached through a hole in the steel and riveted to the the hook. It was used to assist with lifting large bags of wheat, fertiliser and so on in the late 18th or early 19th century.

A handmade steel wide toothed hay rake head with 14 teeth attached to a wooden top made by Wandin Sebire. There are two large holes where a handle would be attached. It was used to rake hay into heaps after scything in the 19th century.

A forged steel two pronged Forked Hoe head used to break up very hard or dry ground. There is a bend at the top of the fork with a hole for the handle. It was made by a blacksmith and used in the 19th century.

A small olive green coloured paperback textbook titled, 'Three Hundred and Fifty Questions and Exercises on the Academic Manual of the Rudiments of Music' by G.Augustus Holmes. It was prepared specially for candidates for the various Musical Examinations and follows the success of the first book by Holmes, 'The Rudiments of Music' which contained, amongst other things, specimen papers which have been issued by the various examining bodies 63p. Price 1s 6d. The publisher and address is written at the bottom. Inside the front cover are listed other books written by A. Holmes as well as the Series listed on the back cover.

Used in the 19th century. Pigs were often raised for meat for the family. The scraper was used to remove the bristles from the carcass.
A curved metal straight bladed pig scraper used to remove the bristles from a pig's carcass. It has a hook on the top edge to remove the nails from the pig's trotters. It has a short wooden handle attached to the metal on the blade with three rivets. There are two slashers near the flail. 'THE ANDYO' registered Hedgehog Tool. A forged steel head of a general purpose hoe with one side of the blade used as a hoe and the other pointed side possibly used to dig small furrows. It was made by Cornelius Whitehouse & Sons at Cannock Edge Tool Works - Branded Whitehouse & Sons. It was used in the 19th century.
'THE ANDYO' is stamped on the pointed blade. On the hoe blade is stamped - Whitehouse & Sons CANNOCK. 'TY GWYN.
