Historical information

Built in 1886, this Victorian classical building was once the site of Reid's New York Bakery. The verandah was added 10 years later. The building boast a grand facade, Edwardian balcony, hand-painted ceiling and grand entrance arch. It features hand painted murals, leadlight windows, and an outstanding timber staircase.

The former coffee palace is part of the temperance movement of the 19th century and was one of the last in Victoria.

In 2019 the former Reid's Coffee Palace went through restoration.
