Document, School of Mines: Adopting a Uniform Code of Mine Signals, 1872, May 1872

Historical information

The School of Mines requested interested parties to attend a meeting at the school in Lydiard Street Ballarat to adopt a uniform Code of Mine Signals. This was hoped to lessen the liability of accidents in mines.
Appendix A is the general code observed by all Mine-owners in Clunes. Appendix B is a general code recommended to the school.
