Historical information
Worn by Rose Caplan who was the donor, Ida Gouttman's mother. Anne Gouttman was married to Ida's son Rodney. Anne and her mother, Maria Frisch, emigrated to Australia in 1948 after surviving the holocaust. Anne had been hidden throughout the war by a Polish family. At the end of the war Anne was reunited with her mother, who had survived a number of concentration camps. There are a number of items belonging to Maria Frisch also in the collection.
