Historical information

Anne's pantry was one of the early shops in the 1920s-1930s shops to be built to the north of the railway line. It was started by Miss Cook and Miss Porteous and has had a continuous history since, although it has changed location within the strip several times. No-one seems to know the origin of the name 'Anne'. Nick and Judy Hilverda took over in 1971.
