Physical description

A letter written by Constable Whyte of Llanelly Police Station on 15th August 1872. Concerns a man named Jacob Shied / Struid / Sluid (?), a Frenchman who speaks English and who has previously been arrested for being 'of nuisance mind' and may have come from 'the asylum at Melbourne' He is described as a 'lunatic at large'. The man apparently escaped supervision and ran into the bush. Whyte is asking another constable Glusau for assistance as Glusau has had contact with the 'lunatic' previously.
