Physical description

A telegram sent from James Ray, Mayor of Tarnagulla to the Minister for Mines, Melbourne on 22nd February 1865. Reads:

"On behalf of the people of Tarnagulla I have to ask that the permission granted to two miners to draw off water from the Public Reservoir be suspended until a petition now in course of signatures by the miners can be forwarded. The public here have no other water supply within five miles."
