In 2003, VCAT approved an application to build a 5 storey building comprising apartments, shops, medical centre and cafe on a site on the corner of Lambourn and Devonshire Roads Watsonia, despite strong local opposition. The proposal did not proceed, but a new proposal was approved in 2019.
