Historical information
W.N.Nelson was a well-known local horse breeder, oftern travelling to Tasmania to acquire horses. Thomas Richards, who sponsored the trophy was a general merchant / store-keeper whose business was located just south of the current Shamrock Hotel site.

Silver trophy cup-shaped with stem and round base. Decorative engraving floral patterns. No handles
