This is an identity card from World War Two. In Australia every civilian person had to have an identity card during that time. These cards were established by the Federal Government in 1939 and continued until 1952. This identity card was issued to a member of the Stasinowsky family living in Warrnambool.

Significance

This item is retained as an example of an Australian World War Two identity card.

Physical description

This is a buff-coloured card with black printing, handwriting and a stamp. It is enclosed in a cardboard envelope with a clear cellophane front.
