Joiners Mallet

From the Collection of Anglesea and District Historical Society 5B McMillan Street Anglesea Victoria

A joiners mallet constructed with a mortised handle into a metal shell bound around the striking faces. It is used for tapping wooden joints together such as mortise and tenon joints. There is an unidentified symbol on one side of the metal casting. Wooden striking faces are a reddish colour and could be red gum.
