Historical information

A pictorial journey through the property 'Ellimatta' before the 2009 Black Saturday bushfire

Significance

Ellimatta was first established in 1918. Over the years the various owners have developed the property in different ways to suit their needs at the time. The garden has been developed over the years into a focal point of the property. To many of the residents of Marysville Ellimatta was known as the "Walkers House" after Bill and Rose Walker who enhanced the garden in many ways. The 2009 Black Saturday bushfires reduced the house to a pile of rubble and the garden was completely destroyed.
