This painted wood Doiley Holder was used to store and protect the linen, cotton and net doilies, hand sewn with needlework, crochet and beads that were used by households c1900

This Doiley holder is an examples of the craftwork skills of the women of the early settler families in Moorabbin Shire c1900
Physical description
Two circular varnished wooden discs each with 2 holes through which ribbon was threaded to hold them together. The top disc is painted with flowers, kookaburra and the word Doyleys .
