Historical information

This is a photograph of Dave Hawkless at Bete Bolong with a wagon load of maize from the farm of Sam Lynn.
David Hawkless was married to Mary Downey in 1906. They had five children.

Significance

This is a pictorial record of the transporting of maize in the Orbost district in the late 19th century.
