Cop[y of article in "The South Bourke Standard" 29 July, 1864 p3. Description of the Annual Meeting of the Society. The December flood had destroyed the fruit tree plantings. The Government had refused a request to grant them more suitable land to the north so part of the ornamental section had to be broken up and planted with fruit trees.
