Bill Smith & Ray Membrey both aged 93 on visit to Stawell Historical Society Sept 1989. Photograph taken in Stawell's old Court house.
Ray Membrey is on the left in the photograph with Bill Smith, both 93 years old. These gentlemen made a visit to Stawell in September before enlisting as service men in the first World War. Ray's family lived in Skene Street Stawell. Ray's father had a blacksmith business in Patrick St. Stawell.
Bill's family lived for some time at the Pleasant Creek Court House. c 1912 -20. Bills father was a Carpender.
