Previous to Mr. Rose, Charles Browning Hall early writing suggests Hall was a stock Herder this lead him to the Grampians district.
Hall held two runs in the Wimmera district La Rose and Moke-Billy (Pille). 1841 - 42 - Hall's Gap is named after him.
