This stirling silver cup values at 40 pounds was won by Wm. McClintock Esp. riding his own horse "Salisbury" at the Plesant Creek Race Club's meeting held on the
Stawell Racecourse in 1878.
Mr. McClintock has now generosly re-donated the cup to Stawell Amateur Turf Club to be presented to the owner of the winner of the StawellCup at the Club's Centenary Meeting 1935. Won by Mr. C.C. Taylor's "Potiaru" 23/4/35. Trained by E.J. McMahon, ridden by H. Fletcher.
