This silk nightdress was made by Mabel Church in the 1920s. Mabel undertook a dress making and tailoring apprenticeship at Whan's Store in High Street, Wodonga.

Significance

This item has well documented provenance and a known owner. It contributes to our understanding of domestic and family life in early twentieth century Wodonga, as well as providing interpretative capacity for themes including local history and social history.
