This medal was struck in 1938 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of British settlement of Australia.
“An Anniversary celebrations medallion and an illustrated brochure telling the history of Australia were presented to pupils at many schools yesterday. It was officially explained last night that these are ultimately to be distributed to the children in every school throughout the state.
The medallion is in bronze. On one side is a design representing Phillip and on the other a torch-bearer. with the inscription “Youth Carries On.”

“Phillip” was Arthur Phillip who was the first Governor of New South Wales.
