Historical information

Albury is in NSW on the Murray River across the border from Wodonga. From 1839 it has grown and has a population of c8000 in 1919. Many of its buildings are grand and include 'Mates' a 'progressive up-to-date' Department Store.

Significance

Residents of the Kiewa Valley shop in Albury and Wodonga as together these are their closest main cities.
