Significance

The Kiewa Valley consisted only of farming until the late 1940s when the Kiewa Hydro Electric Scheme commenced in the Upper Kiewa Valley creating the townships of Bogong and Mt Beauty and the corresponding infrastructure. This book would have been subscribed to (9pence) by local farmers all the way along the valley.
