Historical information

The bicycle is one of the last bicycles hand made and assembled by 'Mr. Rob' c1960 prior to the mass manufacture and overseas imports of 'built up' bicycles. On closing down in September 1999 'Mr Rob' presented this bicycle to the Nunawading Historical and another to the Victorian Museum.

Physical description

Boy's 26 inch bicycle fitted with Dunlop tyres, bell, mudguards, handgrips, leather seat, rear reflector and a ' faboati' coaster hub. Bicycle is supported by its rear wheel on a metal stand.

on top of frame - 'Hand made special'|On front of angle frame - 'Rob's Special'|On rear of frame and on front stem - an emblem 'another Rob's Cycle Blackburn'|13817s - serial number.
