Used by Arthur Edwards in Forest Hill approx C 1899.|This drill belonged to Arthur Edwards who lived in Husband Rd Forest Hill.|Arthur was born in 1876 and worked as a labourer. Because of his circumstances he used his tools to build many of the chairs, tables and other furniture.He also built a sleepout on the family home as the family grew. His corrugated iron shed held hundreds of tools, many he had made by hand to feet to fit a purpose.
Physical description
Metal Drill with shaft and breastplate on one end,with metal gear box in middle with handle on side, and drill chuck on other end. Two speed attained by changing winding handle from one side to the other.metal and wooden handle
