Physical description
A transistor tape recorder with two motors and knock switch. Portable in a green and cream square plastic case - design includes carrying handle which removes when unlocked to reveal working buttons.Buttons - Play and Record. Central push down lever - RWD -STOP-FWD. Metal volume control. Two fittings for Mic and E-P-H. Push down/pull up button. LOCK/OPEN button on handle. Window on case shows two tape reels and has name in grey on silver AIWA TP-40. Two metal levers releases tape cover for access to reel to reel tapes. Recorder inserts into styrene foam box which contains an insert for the round metal microphone with clip on rear and beige plastic cord. In plastic bag is a one earpiece in cream.foam contained within cardboard tray inside sleeve. Front ends and sides of box says AIWA TP40 Transistor tape recorder 2 Motor and Knock Switch Japan. Plastic bag encasing recorder includes blue folded instruction and specifications sheet, and handwritten signature of owner, Gordon Hoskin. Covered battery compartment undrneath. 7.8mm plastic tape reels. One containing 5mm magnetic tape. The base of the reels is metal and rubber. A total of 9 items.
