Historical information
Proceedings were opened in the Visitors' Centre by Barbara Rogalski whose father had catered for the Cottage opening in 1965. Rosalie Whalen (nee Schwerkolt) spoke about her early years in the area, after which the group walked to the cottage where a plaque was unveiled and a tree planted. Returning to the work room, an afternoon tea was enjoyed by all, with the pride of place being a large cake with an edible photograph of the cottage on top.
