Historical information

Mavis Direct (Directway IMP P 2.23.0 - Thompsons Almont Mare (Almont)) Mare. Foaled 1921 (1st Foal) won the St Patrick's Day Cup off scratch over 1 3/4 miles worth £95 (Winner £70 plus silver cup) at Northall Park Tasmania on 17th March 1928, ridden by AJ Gregg defeating Bundaberg 2nd and Field Voyage 3rd. Winning Time 4.20.5 (Note: Result and story published in the Launceston Examiner on 19 Mar 1928 states that the owner at the time was M McLeod not T Allan as per trophy)
