The 1912 universal pattern saddle was standard issue to mounted , artillery and transport units from 1912 to 1941. Universal pattern saddles have unchangeable parts making them easily repaired.
Saddle, 1912 universal pattern for Australian Light Horse complete with stirrups. The stamp on the sweath flap indicated this saddle was issued to 8th Light Horse.
