Dated the 2nd July 1989. Proclamation for a 'sister' relationship of co-operation between the two communities.

Significance

In 1989, shires and cities in Australia including the Alpine Shire were keen to develop partnerships between the communities to establish closer ties for exchange eg. the youth.
