Historical information
Cast irons were heated on the stove and used to take out creases/wrinkles in cloth. Used before electricity was available. Two irons were often used so that one could be being used while the other heated.
Significance
Used in the Kiewa Valley prior to electricity being available.
Physical description
Metal cast iron with handle and embossed within a circle the letter S on the top of the iron. The handle has flat metal curved sides which hold a hollow round rod for lifting.

Embossed on top of the iron - circle with S inside.
