Historical information
The clock has been at Athenaeum since it was donated by Mr. Robert Chamberlain in 1892. Restored by George Premm in 2000 when the clock face was replaced.

Roman numerals for time and 31 numbers on the outer face for days of the month

- Stanley Library Minutes 1890 to 1930 - 1892 Original Athenaeum Wall Clock. Round face with bras bevel and octagonal wooden surround. Glass door and disc pendulum in bottom section, key inside. It has 2 black metal hands and one gold plated metal hand for the day of the month. Natural numbers for days of the month and Roman numbers for telling the time. Door at the back of cabinet to access the clock mechanism.
