This is a cloth/linen poster from WW1. In the centre is an image of a British soldier blowing a bugle. Under that are a few music lines with the phrase "Fall in". Further out from the centre are sets of the two British flags with 8 lines of poetry, encouraging men to enlist, and why.
Around the outsides are the flags of various allied nations at the time. (N.B. The US flag is not there which dates the poster around 1914 - 1917).
This is a military, very cold environment jacket. Suspect Korean War vintage, possibly British or Aust. made.
1. This is a green jacket, 100% lined with fur. It has a raised fur lined neck. It has two pockets on lower front. The pockets have an inner neck (5 cms). Pockets held shut with buttons. The front is held shut with a metal zip and big buttons. The buttons are 28mm diameter, light brown. The wrists have draw straps to seal out cold. Ref: The lining inside:- Rear section fully sewn in, in the two front panels, the bottom edges are not sewn in. 2. Scarf. Woollen, Khaki, thick.
Written on front left jacket chest is name - PEARSE.

Ribbons are: War medals 1939-45. Australian Service Medal. Belonged to Lt. Col. E.P. Seymour. One of the CO's of 38 Bn.
1. Jacket - woollen, black. Lt Col Rank Badges, gold, on epaulettes. Rising Sun badges on collars. Aust Commonwealth Military Forces. Four pockets. Four gold centre buttons. Top two pockets held shut with a gold button. 2. Trousers, woollen, black with red vertical stripe on sides. Pockets - 1 coin, 2 hip, 1 rear. Fly held shut four black buttons. 3. Shirt (ex) white short sleeved. 1 button missing. E... its cotton pocket. 4. Belt, Woollen black. Brass buckle. Two mini straps on inside of belt. 5. Tie, black, cotton. 6. Ribbon bar WW2 (2 medals). 7. Hat peaked black. Formal wear. Gold braid on brim. Red band and red piping. Rising Sun Badge. Aust Comm Military Forces.
On trousers, written on two pockets is name: Seymour. Hat has a ticket inside. Lt. Col. E.P. Seymour.

There are 57 names on the Church Roll, only 22 have photos with their details. The Author is Larna Malone. She also published the Book, "The First Lot". The first men to enlist in Bendigo WW1. Refer Cat No 4798

There is several interesting photos of damage to Darwin Hotels by AIF units disgruntled at not being sent overseas. Unfortunately, the magnificent array of colours and hand-painted features of Fortuna’s leadlight windows are not highlighted with light transmission, as the photographer did not take the photos in the daytime. This set of 30 photographs of the Army Survey Regiment’s Fortuna Villa and surrounding facilities was taken circa 1985. The photos feature much of Fortuna’s exterior and most of the out-buildings spread over the property’s fifteen acres of grounds. After Defence took possession of Fortuna in 1942, the Q-store and engineering workshops were added during the wartime period. Soldiers were accommodated in tents during WW2 for 20 years next to the parade ground before the construction of accommodation buildings in 1962. In 1990 most of the weatherboard buildings in the Q-store area were replaced. A climate-controlled building was also constructed to house a map library and digital data media. This photo set also includes the exterior of Air Survey Squadron’s Building 16 and two modular buildings -16A and 16B that were added in the early 1980s to accommodate map production and technical services. See item 6457.22P for photos of Fortuna Villa’s interior that were taken at the same time.
