Physical description

An unusual split headed long thin spade with a wooden handle Four rivets attach the head to the handle. At the top the handle is screwed to the metal. It was used by Wandin Sebire, probably for a special purpose - it is not known for what. Spades are usually used for turning soil by pushing against the blade with the foot. Used in the early 20th century.

Stamped on the metal handle - '2' and 'S & C Ham'. 'Parkes & Co. Birmingham no. 2'.
