Biography of Charles F. Summers, sculptor of the Statues in the Pavilion, Ballarat Botanical Gardens. How they came to be classical statues through the influence of his father who was a sculptor and his studies in Rome.

Significance

Link between Summers' famous Melbourne statue and studies in Italy and sculptor Benzoni with his works presently housed in the Pavilion, Ballarat Botanical Gardens
