Significance
Tom Beaumont was pre-eminent amongst the Curators of the Ballarat Botanical Gardens as a grower and propagator of many plants, especially tuberous begonias and many trees to be found in the Gardens today. He achieved a national and international reputation and yet remained a humble man.
