The centenary of World War 1 has focused attention on the 32,000 case files of the Australian enquiry bureau and given renewed redcognition to Vera Deakin's key role in the search for the missing. Carole Woods OAM is a Fellow and Honorary Secretary of the Royal HistoricalSociety of Victoria. A longtime advocate for community history, she chaired the judges' panel of the Victorian Community History Awards for seven years. Carole curated two major exhibitions at the RHSV related to the Australian Red Cross. Her books include Vision Fugitive: The Story of David Allen, and Beechworth: A Titan's Field.
