COL Lawrence FitzGerald OBE was Director of the Survey Corps from 1942 to 1960 and was succeeded by COL Don Macdonald AM, MID. COL Frank Buckland OBE, MID succeeded BRIG Don Macdonald AM, MID as Director of the Survey Corps in 1967. He served as Director until 1972. BRIG Macdonald AM, MID was promoted before assuming the honorary position of Colonel Commandant of the Royal Australian Survey Corps.
Physical description
These six black and white photographs were taken at the Army Headquarters (AHQ) Survey Regiment, Fortuna, Bendigo in the 1960s. Photos .1P, .2P and .4P are on printed paper and scanned at 300dpi. The remaining photographs are on negative film and scanned at 600 dpi. They are part of the Army Survey Regiment’s Collection.
